JAYO 3D filament PLA+
PLA Plus (or PLA+) is an improved version of standard PLA (Polylactic Acid), a widely used material in 3D printing. PLA is already popular for its easy processing and environmental friendliness, but PLA Plus offers some improvements. Here are the main properties of PLA Plus:
Strength and Toughness : PLA Plus is stronger and tougher than standard PLA. It is less likely to fracture and can withstand more impact, making it more suitable for functional and mechanical parts.
Flexibility : While PLA is normally quite stiff, PLA Plus has a slightly higher flexibility, which makes it less brittle. This makes parts less likely to break under stress or impact.
Heat resistance : PLA Plus often has a slightly higher heat resistance than standard PLA, although this is generally lower than ABS or PETG for example. This can vary depending on the manufacturer.
Surface quality : Like standard PLA, PLA Plus often offers a nice finish with smooth surfaces. It is relatively easy to print without much warping or shrinkage, provided the print settings are good.
Printability : PLA Plus retains the easy printability of PLA, meaning it is compatible with most FDM/FFF 3D printers. It does not require a heated print bed (although this is sometimes recommended for better adhesion).
Color Fastness : PLA Plus is available in a wide range of colors and often retains its color better than standard PLA, making it suitable for aesthetic prints.
Environmentally Friendly : Like PLA, PLA Plus is made from organic materials such as cornstarch. It is biodegradable, but PLA Plus sometimes contains additives, which can reduce its biodegradability.
Disadvantages of PLA Plus:
Cost : PLA Plus is often more expensive than standard PLA due to the additional additives and improved properties.
Loss of Biodegradability : Some additives in PLA Plus may reduce biodegradability.
Heat resistance : Despite an improvement, heat resistance is still inferior to materials such as ABS or PETG.
